Revised Schools of Choice for 2023-2024

On October 4, 2022, the ABCUSD Board of Education approved the revision of Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5116.1 - Intradistrict Open Enrollment, which also revised the Schools of Choice process. The Schools of Choice application process will now begin on January 1 and end on January 31, giving families earlier notification of the school their child will attend if they go through the Schools of Choice lottery. The revision also refined the ranking used in the lottery, moving those who reside outside the District, including employees, out of the lottery. Out-of-district students are welcome to enroll through the interdistrict permit process after Schools of Choice is over. 

The Child Welfare and Attendance Department will hold a Schools of Choice Parent Meeting on December 15, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., where more information will be shared.
